Party leaders to face 105 undecided voters at Rooty Hill RSL in Sydney in a revival of town hall-style format of round two
Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott will take part in a third leaders' debate next Wednesday.
The people's forum – echoing the format of this week's debate – will be held at the Rooty Hill RSL club in western Sydney and hosted again by Sky News.
"Fine, I'm happy to do that in Rooty Hill or wherever," Rudd said in Geelong on Thursday.
"The Australian public want to see their leaders debate each other on the big questions of the future."
Rudd wants it to be in the same format as Wednesday night's town-hall style forum at the Bronco Leagues Club in Brisbane.
This involved the leaders taking questions from an audience of 105 undecided voters selected by Galaxy Research.
"I'm happy to proceed on that basis," Abbott said in Sydney.
Rudd also confirmed he would not be taking part in a candidates' forum in Brisbane later on Thursday, citing his responsibilities as a prime minister leading a campaign for the government's re-election.
"I have done a debate already with local candidates which went for three hours," he told reporters.
"Has Mr Abbott ever debated his local candidate? The answer to that question is no."
The Brisbane Times is hosting forums at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Thursday involving candidates in each of the city's six most crucial seats, including Rudd's electorate of Griffith.
